[S1FT] Continue Work On New Material, Early 2003 Release Expected
June 16, 2002San Francisco Bay Area's [S1FT], who feature in their ranks DEATH ANGEL touring guitarist Ted Aguilar (filling in for DA's Gus Pepa, who is unable to take part in the reunion shows),are writing new material and are hoping to enter the studio at the end of the year to record their next CD for an early 2003 release. Here's a short update that was posted on the band's official web site:
"We're concentrating on writing new material. [Vocalist] Chris [Dinsmore] & [guitarist] Joe [Biagini] (with the assisstance of [keyboardist] Brett [Crane] & [drummer] Danny [Stevenson]) have been in the sweatbox (what we call the rehearsal room) bashing out new ideas. The ideas are flowing like CRAZY! Two songs have been penned down so far with three more being worked on. The plan is to have 8-10 songs written, choose 5-6 of the strongest songs & enter the recording studio by the end of the year with any early 2003 release. As soon as the some of the new songs gets finalize, we plan to do 8-track home job recording & post snipets of them [on the group's official web site].
"While the rest of the boys are down right busy with all this, Ted will break away for a little bit to play with the legendary thrash band DEATH ANGEL for a few shows. Upon return, [S1FT] are back rehearsing with two Bay Area shows lined up for late July."
